October Project Share
Hey all, today I am sharing all the projects I created in October. I wasn't quite as productive as the month before but with little kids I will take whatever time I can to get scrappy. In today's post I am going to try to be a little more specific about the products I used in each layout. If you have any questions about something specific let me know!
This is the left side of a 2 page layout from 4th of July that I made using the Gossamer Blue June Life Pages kit. I loved how the colors from the kit matched my photos so well. I'm also getting the hang of stamping directly on my photos!
Here is the right side to the layout above again using the same kit. I don't always embellish every picture and I like how sometimes that bare look of the photo actually draws your attention to it.
Here is a layout I made using mostly the Simple Stories Summer Vibes and Summer Days collection. I pulled in enamel shapes and wood veneer from my stash. The picture with the magic veneer is my absolute favorite. We need to get out to the lake more.
For this layout I again had to reach for Simple Stories. This is their Sunshine and Happiness line. I love the perspective of the photos taken of my kids in the fool from above. When taking photos of the same events over and over all summer long, I try to challenge myself to take those pictures from different angles to keep the photos looking fresh.
Unfortunatley I wasn't very successful in using my stash kit for October. I don't know what about it but I just felt stumped when I pulled out my materials. I think the problem is that while I love the Pinkfresh Live More line that I based the kit off of, it just really isn't my style. Anyways here is the left side of the 2 page spread.
The right side to the above spread. I like how a lot of these photos were taken on different days but because of the sleepy theme they all fit together.
This is another layout I created using my October stash kit. It came together really quickly seeing as I am using the 6x6 paper pad and a 3x4 picture there wasn't a whole lot of room for embellishments nor was there a need for a whole lot.
Again keeping it simple with this one. A chipboard sticker, puffy sticker, and some phrase stickers was all it needed and BOOM, done!
This diagonal patterned paper challenged me to figure out just where I was going to write my journaling. I'm pretty sure I've never written on a diagonal on a layout before.
Here is a mini layout I scrapped using the Gossamer Blue August Life Pages kit. This layout brings so much joy to my heart. I love the big sentiment on the middle card and the stamping on the top picture. Next time your're taking a photo, consider leaving a little negative space where you can maybe add some stamping or an embellishment cluster on it later.
I'm not gonna lie but I am not in love with this layout. I created it using mostly Gossamer Blue product during the Paper Issues Fall Crop. The challenge was to not use a paper trimmer at all during the process of creating the layout. Now I don't know if that what was throwing me off or what but I'm just not feeling it. Now the photo I couldn't be more in love with. That's the great thing about digital photography though. You can always print another photo and scrap it again!
Ok, we're about to get super real with this layout. This picture has got to be at least 10 years old. It was taken before my husband and I got married. Considering the time it was taken it is a dang good photo quality wise. I mean we were pretty cute back then too! This layout challenged my creativity in so many ways. This layout was also created during the Paper Issues Fall Crop and the idea was that as a group we all used the same type of supplies and added them layer by layer. It was so cool to see how we all used the same types of supplies but in different ways when creating out layouts.
This layout I am totally in love with! I used leftovers from the Gossamer Blue May Life Pages Kit and the background paper I'm guessing is from the May Main Kit. Sometimes I really bright, bold, busy pattern can really overwhelm me. In those cases I like to put a piece of vellum over the pattern to quiet it down a bit.
So there you have it. All 13 layouts I created last month. I'm off to a slow start this month but I have been tackling my Week in the Life album from back in April so for a change of pace I may focus on that and have an album share at the end of the month. Also, side note, who is ready for DECEMBER DAILY??? Not a clue what the heck I'm talking about? Stick around to get a glimpse of one of my favorite documentation projects I work on all year!
